Choosing Your Wedding Decorations

2010-10-26 10:21:56

A decoration is an object that is intended to add beauty to a room; it is an art of converting something ordinary to something visually appealing.

Décor essentially becomes one of the most important aspects of a wedding. It’s that one thing that will add splendor to the occasion. It will also set the mood and tone for your guests to enjoy your special day. The bare ballroom, garden or reception hall that you checked out to have your wedding will not look the same on your special day once you’re done decorating it.

You can always stick to the basics by using mostly flowers as your décor. Flowers have proven to be the general standard when it comes to décor, and quite rightly so. There are so many designs to choose from. The array of choices and colours can make anyone dizzy. You don’t really have to know all the names of the flowers to get your décor done. You can just tell your florist your colour theme that you want and they will work from that point onwards to come up with beautiful creations.

At the same time, you should also not be afraid of steering away from the traditional choice of flowers. There are many other options for you to consider, you’ve only got to let your imagination get the better of you! There are so many other types of décor that can be used as an add-on for flowers or as a completely separate decor all together. This includes candles, lamps & vases in various colours & shapes, sea shells, coloured pebbles, metallic confetti, twigs, drapes, branches, lanterns, lighting, beads, you name it, you can pretty much use it!

And for the very daring few, you can get professionals to help you out in creating all those way out themes that other people think is unusual. It could be to have a full under water theme with fish tanks, maybe create a full solar system and have stars and planets all around. You can even make lifelike peacocks for your table décor and go all out with a peacock theme or even a full winter wonderland created with white drapes, icicles and fake snow.

The most important thing when it comes to décor is to make sure that your florist understands EXACTLY what your requirements are. Be specific about what you want and ask them to create a replica of your decor so that you know that they are on the same page. Although you may at some point test the patience of your florist, keep checking on the décor until you are certain that you will get exactly what you have in your mind. It is your special day and you should not have any regrets about any of the décor that will be used.

So go ahead, create the most amazing place that you want to get married!
