Cleansing & Caring For Your Skin
2009-09-2913:49
This week we bring to you a few must know tips on taking care of your skin.
You gotta beware of over cleansing
Over cleansing is a major casue of sensitive skin, as it strips the skins under layers of its natural protective properties. Make sure you use a cleanser that’s right for your skin type and don’t over do it.
Give it a rest
Moisturizer seals in more than moisture – it stops oil escaping from the skin and can cause spots in those prone to breakouts. Occasionally give yourself a break from night time creams to allow your skin to breathe and regulate itself normallySteam away your impurities.
For a quick, deep cleanse, pour boiling water into a bowl with lemon juice and rose petals and hold your face over the bowl, covering your head with a towel. The steam will invigorate you, aid in respiration, and help loosen blackheads. Cleanse afterwards and follow with a cool water rinse to close pores.

Go Large.
Remember that for cleansing, moisturizing and facial skin care purposes, your face is the area between your hairline and our collarbone – don’t neglect that neck skin. Not only is the skin soft and delicate, it is also very close to underlying structures like the thyroid and voice box. Gentle is the best.

Tip of the Week
When cleansing, many people forget the tip of their nose, which can become oily or greasy. Use small circular movements to make sure you get your whole nose clean.

Sleep Clean
It’s an old adage, but never go to bed with your make up on. It prevents skin the skin from shedding and breathing and may cause blemishes, and blackheads to appear.

Specialize for eyes
For fast removal, use a good eye make up remover rather than a cleanser. It has oils that dissolve make up better and faster than regular cleanser or toner. Then wash as usual.

Assess to cleanse bestYour first step in the morning should be to take a good look in the mirror. Note any dry patches on the cheeks or oiliness in the T zone. Hormones, season, environment and diet can all impact on your skin and will be evident - you can then adjust your regime accordingly.

Keep your hair off the skin
Keep hair clean and off the face to avoid making skin greasy, especially overnight when it can rub against skin as you sleep and cause spots and blemishes to appear.

Please wash your hands…
Make sure your hands are clean before you touch your face. When applying the foundation, use a sponge or brush to give a velvety look.

Cleanse before you colour…
Before applying your make up in the morning, make sure you thoroughly cleanse your face and apply moisturizer to even out the skin
